Award #9, Landscape Design, may be awarded to a single club for beautification of community site. Award must reflect quality of design, arrangement of plant material and the functional choice of plant material for easy maintenance. Landscape design plan is required, but does not have to be done by professionals. ($25, 1st place single club)
Award #10, Recycling/Litter Control may be awarded to a single club for the best recycling and/or anti-litter project. ($25, 1st place single club)
Award # 11, Member Award of Honor recognizes those NGC members, whose volunteer efforts, during a period of five years have made outstanding contribution/s to club and community in one or more of the following areas: Civic Development, Conservation, Design, Horticultural Therapy, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Youth Activities, All Around Excellence. ELIGIBILITY: Any member of a state garden club, who has never served as a member of the NGC Board of Directors, including State Presidents. Guidelines and the Member Award of Honor Applicaiton Form may be found on the NGC website. Complete form, send to your state Awards Chairman by Jan. 1. State Awards Chairman sends the application to the SCR Awards Chair by Feb. 1. The winning entry in our region will receive an invitation to attend a function at the NGC Convention, and will be presented a certificate, a pin, and the book of evidence that was submitted. All 4 of our states are encouraged to send in an applicaiton for this award.
Award #12, Membership Increase Awards, may be presented to a single garden club in the region with the greatest percentage of new members as of Oct. 31. Send copy of last year's yearbook title page and the current year's yearbook title page, each showing clubs total membership; ($25) to both A and B.
Award #13, Youth Program may be presented to a single club best meeting the challenge of youth during the awards year. Must show direct work with youth, e.g. series of environmental meetings; Adopt a School; a complete program for youth (nature hikes, Flower Show, sponsored contest), or through High School, Intermediate or Junior Gardener activities. ($50, 1st place single club)
Award #14, Publication Award may be awarded for outstanding publications by (A) a club or (B) group of clubs or state. Printed publications or those prepared for electronic distribution are acceptable entries. Newsletters or bulletins must be published 3 times per year or more. ($10 each will be presented to 1st place winner in each category of both A and B).
(1) Brochures; (2) Newsletters (1-2 pages); (3) Newsletters (3 pages or more); (4)Manual or handbook; (5) Calendars; (6) Cookbooks; (7) Other.
Award #15 Publicity Press Book: First Place winners from each size category in each state are sent to SCR Awards Chair by Feb. 23, annually. SCR Awards Chair sends a list of winners to appropriate NGC Awards Committee member.
CRITERIA: May be awarded to winning books of evidence exhibiting quality, quanity, and DIVERSITY of coverage in the print media, promoting garden clubs, and NGC goals and objectives.

SCALE OF POINTS Presentation: Requirements met, neat 15 pts. Quality: related to projects/activities 40 pts. Quantity: Articles for each month, variety of publications, 25 pts. Diversity: local, council, district, state, region, NGC, 20 pts.
AWARD #16, YEARBOOK AWARDS: The categories for Yearbooks are listed on previous page of Awards info on website. State Awards Chairman may send a winner from each category to SCR Awards Chairman for judging on the SCR level. A list of the clubs along with categories should accompany the entries. Those judging yearbooks on the SCR level should adhere to the requirements listed on NGC website (Award Listings, Yearbooks) or as printed in The National Gardener, fall issue of odd numbered years.
AWARD #22, REGIONAL DIRECTORS PROJECT: 2015-2017, "Protecting the Migrating Path of the Monarch Butterfly". Application is made in the second year of the term.
Award #23, Sweepstakes Award: Determined by SCR Awards Chairman, no applicaton needed. Awarded to a single adult club winning the highest number of points for awards won at SCR Annual Convention. Determined as follows: Each 1st place = 3 pts. Each 2nd place = 2 pts. Each 3rd place = 1 pt. First place, single club, $25
